PUBLIC ADDRESS AND
VOICE EVACUATION SYSTEMS
A properly specified and installed Voice Alarm (VA) system
designed to meet BS5839 provides venues with integrated fire detection and
monitored Public Address (PA). Bells and alarm sounders can cause confusion, so
they are replaced with clear, informative pre-recorded voice instructions. The
Fire Officer can override the system as required.
A Voice Alarm system allows for phased and planned evacuation - increasing
safety, reducing confusion and panic, and saving lives. It can also be used for
background music, Public Address and advertising.
The choice and placement of speakers is important - correct Sound Pressure
Levels (SPL) ensure clear, precise and intelligible messages. We select
